On arrival at Paro International Airport, you will be received by our representative and commuted to your Hotel, where you will be checked into for rest and refreshment. In the evening, if interested you can take a relaxed stroll in the local Paro market. Overnight stay at the hotel in Paro.

Today, we drive toThimphu, the Capital of Bhutan (approx one hour drive), where you will be checked into your hotel on arrival. Later, we shall proceed for a local sightseeing tour of Thimphu wherein we shall visit The Memorial Chorten(a stupa dedicated to world peace and prosperity in 1974 in memory of the Third King of Bhutan) , The School of Arts & Crafts and the magnificent statue of Buddha Dordenma builton a hillslope 100 metres above Wangchu River overlooking Thimphu capital city. Overnight stay at hotel in Thimphu.

Thimphu – Day hike to Tango and Chari Monastery.

Today, we drive to the idyllic country side north of Thimphu through the villages of Dechencholing and Begana about an hour to the starting point for our gradual hiking ascent to Chari and Tango Monastery. The two separate hikes uphill takes one hour each to these destinations and picnic lunch will be catered at the foothill of Tango valley. Overnight in a hotel in Thimphu.

Today, we drive to Punakha (Approx 2 ½ hours) through some of the Kingdom’s richest agricultural land and most dramatic river valleys.  

The first stop after leaving Thimphu on the journey east is Dochu La pass around 3100 m high and way above the clouds.  Only an hour's drive from Thimphu, it offers visitors their first glimpse of the Eastern Himalayan range. From the pass the road curls its way down into the relative lowlands of the Punakha Valley. Before Thimphu was made the permanent capital of Bhutan, Punakha was the Winter Capital because of its more temperate climate.

Later, we shall visit the beautiful Punakha Dzong( known as the  “the palace of great happiness”),located at the confluence of the Pho Chhu (father) and Mo Chhu (mother) rivers in the Punakha–Wangdue valley. We shall also visit the Chhimi Lhakhang monastery. Overnight stay at hotel in Punakha.

Today morning, we leave Punakha and proceed towards the town of Paro and on the way visit Paro Dzong located on the rocky outcrop of the steep hillside overlooking both sides of the valley drive back to the town. After noon visit the old ruins of Drukgyel Dzong, 17th century fortress that used to keep invaders from Tibet and in 1951 the fort was destroyed by fire. Evening at leisure. Overnight stay at hotel in Paro.

Today, we shall for a local sightseeing tour of Paro, wherein we shall visit the famous Taktsang Monastery, also known as the ‘Tiger’s Nest’, located on a high cliff towards the north of Paro town. One can hike (around 2 hours) uphill to the monastery to capture the spectacular views. Later, we shall visit the popular Paro Dzong, located above the Paro river. We shall also visit Kichu Lhakhang temple, one of the oldest temples in Bhutan. Overnight stay at hotel in Paro.

After breakfast, we shall drive to Paro International Airport for your onward journey with memories of a lifetime!
